Breaking News from the Olympics: B-Girls Advance from Knockout Rounds to Semifinals
PARIS — Breaking, more widely known as breakdancing, is making its Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games. The event kicks off with the B-Girls, with medals set to be awarded by the end of today.
The competition began with a round-robin format, featuring four groups of four breakers each. Every participant competed in two rounds against each of the other three in their group. The top two B-Girls from each group, based on the number of wins, progressed to the quarterfinals. (Unfortunately, USA's Sunny Choi and Logan Edra did not advance to the knockout stages.) The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals follow a traditional bracket system with three rounds each.
